Conditioned Cut Wire Shot Buying Guide
A useful quotation starts with the wire material, diameter, edge conditioning and the process result—not a product name alone.
Define the application
Describe the workpiece alloy, dimensions, initial condition and whether the objective is peening, deburring, cleaning or appearance finishing. Record the responsible specification and inspection basis.
Specify material and conditioning
State the wire material, nominal diameter and required conditioned form. Ask the supplier to identify the proposed condition and provide representative samples. Do not assume all rounded cut wire behaves identically.
Match the media to equipment
Provide wheel or air-blast equipment, nozzle or wheel details, separator, current operating mix and restrictions on contamination. Confirm that the proposed size is compatible with the complete circulation path.
Run a controlled trial
Use representative parts and fixed settings. Record coverage, cycle time, surface appearance, carryout, media breakdown and the agreed acceptance measurements.
