Steel Shot vs Steel Grit
Steel shot and steel grit are both reusable metallic blasting media, but their shapes produce different surface actions. The correct choice depends on the workpiece, coating condition, required profile and blasting equipment.

Choose from the required result
Do not select media from price per tonne alone. Define the material, contaminant or coating, required cleanliness, target surface profile, current cycle time and equipment type. A media with a higher purchase price may still reduce total processing cost if consumption and cycle time improve.
Can shot and grit be blended
Some blasting processes use a controlled operating mix, but the ratio should be evaluated against the equipment and finish requirement. Record the current media specification before testing a change.
